Wisconsin Badgers Football vs Nebraska for the Freedom Trophy

The Wisconsin Football DAWG of the Week series is an opportunity to spotlight players that had a massive impact on the game. Earning this prestigious honor is more than just statistical output.  It’s about which Badgers player let that inner DAWG out.

Certainly stats will factor into this weekly award — but this particular accolade is more than who filled up the stat sheet. More simply — what player would not be denied. When a players best was required — who rose to the occasion?

Wisconsin Football WR Will Pauling

Time after time, drive after drive – Will Pauling answered the bell.

Wisconsin fell behind Nebraska quickly on Saturday. Scoring 14 points in one play is impossible so moving the ball down the field was imperative. Every single time the ball found the redshirt freshman he made the most of it.

Finishing his day with nine catches for 79 yards, Pauling was clearly Wisconsin QB Tanner Mordecai’s favorite target.

The Badgers are set to travel to Minnesota for the Axe. Game is at 2:30PM on 11/25.

The Wisconsin football team won on Saturday night to extend the bowl streak to 22 years.

Paul Bunyan’s Axe has spent far too long within the state lines 0f Minnesota – especially with that Head Weirdo, PJ Fleck.

Bring the Axe home, boys! It cannot stay with Fleck and the Goofers any longer!
