Wisconsin Football DAWG of the Week vs. Buffalo
Wisconsin Football Dawg of the Week
The Wisconsin Football Dawg of the Week series is an opportunity to spotlight a player that had a massive impact on the game. Earning this prestigious honor is more than just statistical output. It’s all about who let that inner dawg out.
Certainly stats will factor into this weekly award — but this particular accolade is more than who filled up the stat sheet. More simply — what player would not be denied. When a players best was required — who rose to the occasion?
Wisconsin Football Running Back Chez Mellusi
Coming out of halftime it’s fair to say the fans inside Camp Randall Stadium had some level of anxiety about the first half. Wisconsin was locked into a 14 — 10 tilt with an average team from the Mid-American Conference. Taking over at their 11-yard line — the Badgers desperately needed a spark.
Enter Chez Mellusi.
The Florida native stepped up in the biggest of ways. As soon as he took the handoff he had to be smiling like the butchers dog. The Wisconsin football offensive line opened a hole as wide as the isthmus and he exploded through it. Mellusi absolutely embarrassed the Buffalo defense en route to a 89-yard touchdown run.

The graduate student arguably played his best game as a Wisconsin Badgers RB. He finished the contest with 13 totes for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Chez Mellusi is the Wisconsin Football Week 1: Dawg of the Week.
