Wisconsin Football Misses on 3-Star Wide Receiver Target

The Wisconsin football team has been on a tear this summer on the recruiting trail. Many of the players they have hosted on official visits ended up committing to the Badgers.

There are a few remaining targets the Badgers are still going after trying to gain a commitment. One of those players was Muizz Tounkara, a wide receiver out of League City, Texas.

Tounkara had the Wisconsin football team in his top three teams along with the Arizona Wildcats and the Kansas Jayhawks.

It felt like the Badgers were in the driver’s seat in Tounkara’s recruitment for a long time. But that vibe seemingly dropped the past few weeks as Arizona continued to be a threat to the Badgers.

Ultimately, the 3-star wideout chose the Wildcats over the Badgers during a live announcement on Instagram.

This is one of the few misses for the Wisconsin football team this summer. They already have two committed wide receivers in Cam Miller and Eugene Hilton Jr. But Tounkara would be a different kind of receiver than the other two. Tounkara is a bigger receiver standing at 6-4, bigger than both Miller (5-11) and Hilton (6-2).

Now that the Badgers missed out on Tounkara, it remains to be seen whether or not they will pursue another receiver or just stand pat.

Right now, the current wide receiver depth chart for the Wisconsin football team looks pretty deep, so they don’t need to go out and throw around scholarship offers just to do it. Plus, you can always supplement through the portal if needed.
