The Wisconsin Badgers football program kicked off its 2025 recruiting class by adding QB Landyn Locke out of Rockwall, Texas

Locke took to social media to announce that he would make his way to Madison for UW’s next round of junior day visits.

According to the industry-generated composite rankings, the three-star signal-caller is the No. 635 player in the nation, the No. 48 QB, and the No. 101 player in Texas.

Locke, the younger brother of Badgers QB Braedyn Locke, initially chose Wisconsin over offers from Miami, SMU, Tulsa, and Western Kentucky. Since his commitment, Locke has continued to attract attention from programs such as Duke, North Texas, Rice, and East Carolina.

Since his commitment in June of 2023, Locke made his way down to campus one other time for the home opener against Buffalo.

UW is preparing for a huge recruiting weekend, with confirmed visitors including four-star RB Byron Louis, three-star DL Torin Pettaway, four-star EDGE Austin Alexander, and RB Chase Garnett, among others.

Having any committed player on campus to help on the recruiting front is big, but it’s an even bigger deal when you have that class’s quarterback there. Junior days have been a huge success for UW in the 2025 class, and it will be interesting to see if some more commitments come down the pipe with Locke’s help.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds commitments from Locke, Remington Moss, Jaimier Scott, Brenden Anes, Michael Roeske, Cooper Catalano, and Cody Haddad, good for the No. 10 recruiting class in the nation, per the composite rankings.
