Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment from Current Badger QB’s Brother

Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment from 2025 QB Landyn Locke
UW offered Locke back in May when he started to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail. Wisconsin beat out offers from Miami, Tulsa, SMU, and Western Kentucky. Virginia Tech and Houston also showed some interest but have not offered a scholarship.
Offensive coordinator Phil Longo acted as the lead recruiter for Locke. Longo began recruiting the 2025 QB during his time at North Carolina and continued to do so when he moved to Wisconsin.
Locke saw limited opportunities at the varsity level last fall, but his first game as a signal-caller was one to remember. The Texas native got his first chance on varsity in week two of the 2022-23 season after Rockwall’s starting QB suffered an injury. Locke was brought up from JV to fill in as a backup and earned some reps off the bench. On his first pass, the sophomore connected for a touchdown.
Rockwall head coach Trey Brooks discussed Landyn’s play with Dallas News after his first varsity snaps.
“We threw a play action pass on Braedyn’s first play as a varsity player, too. But his pass didn’t look quite as good as Landyn’s. It was about 10 feet over the head of Jaxson Smith-Njigba, and Landyn’s was a touchdown.”
Locke is an intriguing prospect with plenty of room to grow. With his brother on campus, Landyn will have a perfect mentor when he heads to Madison.
