The Wisconsin football program has had an overall impressive first year on the recruiting trail, despite taking a slight step back with a pair of de-commitments from Rob Booker and Vernon Woodward.

Still, UW is in the running for multiple standout prospects, two of which have announced their commitment dates.

Four-star ATH Koy Beasley was the first to announce his commitment date, which is set for June 28th.

Four-star defensive lineman Dominic Kirks also announced his commitment date. The Ohio native be choosing his school on June 30th, per his Twitter page.

Where does Wisconsin football stand with Beasley and Kirks?

Wisconsin has been in on both prospects and recently brought them in on official visits.

All signs point to Wisconsin and Pittsburgh being the top two schools for Kirks. The four-star DL visited Pittsburgh on June 2nd before heading to Wisconsin the following weekend.

There hasn’t been any indication of where Kirks is leaning at this time. However, UW impressed the Ohio native on his official visit.

“They’re definitely in the top six, maybe top three,” Kirks told 247Sports. “I can definitely see myself going to a place like Wisconsin.”

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Kirks is the No. 390 player in the nation, the No. 39 defensive lineman, and the No. 14 player in Ohio.

As for Beasley, Wisconsin is in the running alongside Pittsburgh and Purdue. The standout from Ohio is completing one last official visit to the Boilermakers before his commitment date.

Pittsburgh is seemingly the team to beat, as 247Sports has submitted a prediction for the Panthers to land the four-star prospect. However, there have been some murmurs that Wisconsin could steal a commitment.

Could Wisconsin football land both prospects?

Beasley and Kirks would be huge additions to Wisconsin’s 2024 class, which recently took a tumble down the recruiting charts following a pair of de-commitments.

I’d be more surprised if Wisconsin can seal the deal with Beasley, despite how impressed he was during his official visit. Pittsburgh has been pushing hard for the four-star prospect for some time now, and they’re the team to beat.

Kirks is also a tough one to nail down. Defensive coordinator Mike Tressel has a relationship with Kirks dating back to his time at Cincinnati. Still, multiple reports have indicated that the four-star defensive lineman has a great relationship with Pittsburgh’s defensive line coach.

These commitments will be one to keep an eye on as the Wisconsin football program looks to bounce back up the recruiting charts.
