The Wisconsin football coaching staff secured the services of 2025 quarterback Landyn Locke early in his recruiting process.

Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Phil Longo flew down to Texas to evaluate Locke in person, offered him a scholarship, and got him on campus for an unofficial visit that sealed the deal.

It also helped that his brother, Braedyn Locke, was already playing for the Wisconsin Badgers and could help sell something no other school could offer: a chance to play football in the same program.

Despite Locke being an under-the-radar talent when he committed, holding early offers from Miami, SMU, Tulsa, and Western Kentucky, schools haven’t backed off their pursuit of the three-star signal caller.

Wisconsin Football QB Commit Racking Up Scholarship Offers

Since Landyn Locke committed to the Wisconsin Badgers football program, he’s continued to garner interest on the recruiting trail.

As a junior at Rockwall High School, Locke threw for 1,702 yards and 19 touchdowns with four interceptions while completing 60.6% of his passes, according to MaxPreps. He also ran for a touchdown on the ground.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound quarterback first received a scholarship offer from Duke, although there was never any indication that Locke was anything but firm in his commitment to the Badgers. More recently, Locke has accumulated new offers from Eastern Carolina and Cal Berkeley.

If anything, the Wisconsin football quarterback commit picking up additional offers proves that the Badgers initial evaluation of Locke was spot on. Unless Locke were to begin visiting any of the schools, there’s no reason to be concerned, considering he has already expressed a desire to enroll early.
