Wisconsin Football Signee Soars to Top 50 in Recruiting Rankings

Among the biggest wins for the Wisconsin Badgers football program in the 2024 recruiting class was landing four-star offensive tackle Kevin Heywood from Royersford, Pennsylvania.

At this point, Heywood might be best known for tossing a Stanford commit around like a rag-doll during an All-American Bowl practice.

But the gifted offensive lineman made people take notice of his talent—because he has soared into the No. 50 spot in the country, per 247Sports. That easily places Heywood as the highest-rated member of the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting class.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football staff prioritized recruiting a sizeable offensive line class, signing five players in the 2024 cycle. 

Kevin Heywood is the creme of the crop and could be a candidate to push for a spot in the two-deep following the departure of Nolan Rucci, Dylan Barrett, and Trey Wedig to the transfer portal this offseason. 

The 6-foot-6, 298-pound tackle has long arms and massive hands while playing with the physicality you’d typically think of with a throwback Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman. However, the athletic tools are his calling card, and if he can maintain that after adding some weight, he could become a problem down the road. 

Recruiting rankings don’t matter once you put on the pads, but the Wisconsin football coaching staff has undoubtedly found a high-upside player to develop with Kevin Heywood.
