Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin football hosted fifteen high-school recruits this past weekend. Thirteen of the 15 are prospects for the 2024 recruiting class. The other two are 2025 prospects. Following the visits, head coach Luke Fickell and his staff earned one commitment and extended three scholarship offers.

Badgers Receive Record-Breaking Commitment From 4-Star Tight End

Grant Stec, a four-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite rankings, committed after visiting Madison this past weekend. He is the highest-rated tight-end prospect to ever commit to Wisconsin. Nationally, Stec is the tenth highest-rated tight-end prospect in the 2024 class.

The Algonquin, Illinois-native measures in at 6’6″ and 220 pounds. Stec holds 15 total FBS scholarship offers. He has offers from fellow Big Ten schools, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Rutgers, Penn State, and Michigan State.

In-State Offensive Lineman Earns Scholarship Offer

Derek Jensen received a scholarship offer this weekend. A three-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Jensen holds 12 scholarship offers. All but one of his offers come from Power Five programs. To secure his commitment, Wisconsin will have to compete with Big Ten rivals Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan State

Jensen, who attends Arrowhead High School in Heartland, WI, is the fourth-ranked overall player from Wisconsin in the 2024 class. The 6’6 “, 285-pound offensive lineman would be Wisconsin’s plan for the future after securing immediate help at the offensive line in the transfer portal. He is the 19th offensive lineman to receive an offer from Wisconsin in the 2024 recruiting class.

3-Star Green Bay-Native Receives Scholarship Offer

On the defensive side of the ball, Wisconsin offered a scholarship to linebacker prospect Landon Gauthier. The three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, hails from Green Bay and attends Bay Port High School.

The 6’3 “, 220-pound recruit visited Madison previously when Jim Leonhard was interim head coach. Now, Wisconsin joins five other FBS schools, including rival Minnesota, in extending a scholarship offer to Gauthier.

Notably, 247Sports insider Evan Flood put in a Crystal Ball projection for Gauthier to commit to Wisconsin shortly after his offer was announced.

2025 TE Receives First Scholarship Offer

In the 2025 recruiting class, Wisconsin jumped on tight-end prospect James Flanigan early. Flanigan, another Green Bay native, received his scholarship offer from Wisconsin during his visit this past weekend. It is his first scholarship offer from any program.

Flanigan recorded 22 receptions for 520 yards and nine touchdowns last fall for Notre Dame Academy. In the transfer portal and from traditional high-school recruiting, the Badgers continue to seek talented athletes for offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s air raid offense. Flanigan’s early offer is the latest sign that Wisconsin football is serious about providing its array of blue-chip quarterback prospects with talented receiving options.

Flanigan’s father, Jim Flanigan, was born in Green Bay, played college football at Notre Dame, and spent one season as a Green Bay Packer.
