It wasn’t all that long ago that Wisconsin football recruiting target Tariq Hayer announced he would commit on Christmas day. Had that come to fruition, the Badgers were expected to be one of the top options.

Hayer would walk back that choice in favor of visiting a few more schools, which is reasonable considering how early it is in his process.

The Washington D.C. native is considered the nation’s No. 114 overall recruit, the No. 15 cornerback, and the No. 2 player in the District of Columbia, per the composite recruiting rankings.

A report from Brian Dohn of 247Sports has since surfaced, suggesting that Hayer plans on visiting the Miami Hurricanes this month.

Wisconsin football coaches have put themselves in a good spot with several highly-rated 2025 recruiting targets at cornerback.

Tariq Hayer, who has a crystal ball prediction to land with the Badgers, is one of them, and another is four-star defensive back Jaimier Scott.

The Wisconsin Badgers are still believed to be sitting atop Hayer’s wishlist right now. Still, he holds quite a few big-time offers, including the likes of Penn State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Tennessee, and several other Power 5 teams, so there’s no need to rush things on his end.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program currently have the No. 16 ranked recruiting class in the country, holding five commits.
