The Wisconsin Badgers football coaching staff has been active on the recruiting trail lately and has their sights set on building a relationship with the top-ranked 2025 prospect in Minnesota.

Abu Tarawallie, a three-star defensive lineman from Esseo, Minnesota, announced that he had received a scholarship offer from the Wisconsin Badgers, joining Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Oklahoma as schools vying for his services.

With the offer to Tarawallie becoming official, he becomes the 17th player in the 2025 class to whom the Wisconsin Badgers have offered a scholarship. It’s also worth noting there are no active commits at this spot.

It’s not some big secret that the Wisconsin football program needs to improve its defensive line room, but the Badgers have already brought in a few promising talents this past cycle.

Repeating that success and developing these in-house talents will determine how competitive the Badgers will be moving forward.

Abu Tarawallie is the first player from Minnesota to pick up an offer from the Wisconsin football recruiting department among 2025 recruits. The Badgers only sent out three in that state the year previous, so it’ll be interesting to monitor how that recruiting footprint evolves under this staff.

The industry-generated composite recruiting rankings list the 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman as the No. 516 player in the 2025 class, the No. 43 DL, and the No. 1 player in Minnesota.
