St. Ignatius’s Cody Haddad makes a third-quarter touchdown reception over McKinley’s Geno Kelly, Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.

The Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff added commit No. 5 to the football team’s 2025 recruiting class following a junior day visit by landing safety Cody Haddad out of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Haddad is listed as the No. 32 athlete in his class and Ohio’s No. 15 ranked player. He chose the Wisconsin Badgers over reported offers from Duke, Boston College, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Kansas, Liberty, Nebraska, Kent State, and Purdue.

Let’s dive into what the Wisconsin football team is adding to their recruiting class with Haddad via a Badgernotes.com scouting report.

Wisconsin Football Scouting Report on Safety Cody Haddad

There’s a lot to like about Wisconsin football commit Cody Haddad. He missed most of his junior season due to a broken arm but returned late in the year and put together some fantastic tape.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety played in just four games for the Wildcats but made a substantial impact, totaling 42 tackles, forcing three fumbles, and intercepting four passes.

First and foremost, when I watch Haddad fly around the field on tape, it’s hard not to come away impressed with his instincts. It’s evident that Haddad processes information quickly and can read and react to what’s happening in front of him at an impressive rate.

When he commits to doing something, he commits 100%; there’s no pause, which is something you like to see from a safety in this scheme. When Haddad decides to break on the ball, it looks like he’s shot out of a cannon and plays fearlessly.

More importantly, when he gets to the point of attack, he appears to be an extremely sound to well above average tackler and packs some punch when he hits them. Haddad always seems to play the game at full speed and should be an asset in run support while being athletic enough to hold up in some man coverage situations.

He also has some impressive ball skills that could allow him to move around the Wisconsin football team’s defensive formation, perhaps making him a candidate to fill the ‘dollar’ role.

Overall, Cody Haddad will need to add some size, but he brings a different skill set than any of the safeties the Badgers coaching staff has brought in since they took over. He has all the physical tools you look in a Power 4 starter.

I could see Haddad becoming a multi-year contributor for the Wisconsin football program on defense.
