The Wisconsin football program has put together a solid 2025 recruiting class early, holding a total of four commitments for the No. 14 class in the cycle. The Badgers have a long way to go, but early returns have been promising for Luke Fickell‘s second full recruiting cycle.

Wisconsin has remained in the mix for Tariq Hayer, a four-star cornerback in the 2025 class. The Washington, D.C. native is nearing the end of his recruitment, as a commitment date has been locked in.

Wisconsin Football Target Tariq Hayer Announces Commitment Details

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Hayer is the No. 115 prospect in the nation, the No. 15 CB, and the No. 2 player in Washington, D.C.

The St. John’s High School standout holds 21 total offers, with notable schools including Penn State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Minnesota, and many more throwing their hats in the ring.

Hayer visited Madison in June and was set to be in town for Wisconsin’s primetime matchup against Ohio State but could not make the trip. The four-star prospect had also made stops at Maryland, Cincinnati, and Penn State during the season, who are now considered finalists in his recruitment.

The Washington D.C. native is seemingly keeping his recruitment close to the vest, as there are currently no predictions cast for where he’ll end up by major recruiting services. Let’s see if Luke Fickell and company can bring this one home.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds commitments from QB Landyn Locke, DB Remington Moss, OL Michael Roeske, and LB Cooper Catalano in the 2025 class.
