Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment From 2025 In-State LB
Wisconsin football picks up another in-state recruiting win.
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program closed out a pivotal in-state recruiting battle on Tuesday by picking up a commitment from Cooper Catalano, a 2025 three-star inside linebacker from Germantown.
Catalano chose the hometown Badgers over scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Missouri.

He quickly emerged as a top priority for defensive coordinator Mike Tressel at the inside linebacker position during the 2025 cycle. That’s why Tressel served as the primary contact throughout Catalano’s recruitment — and ensured the linebacker was on campus routinely.
Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment From 2025 In-State Linebacker Cooper Catalano
This marks a significant victory for Wisconsin football in recruiting, particularly as the new coaching staff works to continue building connections and credibility with local talents within the state.
Cooper Catalano has showcased an extraordinary knack for tackling, amassing 147 tackles and 19 TFLs in his sophomore year, followed by an impressive 138 tackles and 18 TFLs in his junior year.
As it stands, he’s on pace to become Wisconsin’s all-time high school leading tackler.
Standing tall at 6-foot-2 and weighing 215 pounds, Catalano is your prototypical blue-collar inside linebacker prospect that bleeds Cardinal and White.
Wisconsin football needs as many of these types of kids in their program as possible as they work to establish a recruit and develop culture.
Catalano joins the ranks of defensive back Remington Moss from Alexandria, Va., offensive tackle Michael Roeske from Wautoma, Wis., and quarterback Landyn Locke from Rockwall, Texas, in Wisconsin’s 2025 recruiting class.
