Wisconsin football redshirt junior inside linebacker Jordan Turner will enter the transfer portal after four seasons with the Badgers.

The news of Turner’s departure was first reported by Adam Rittenberg, senior college football writer for ESPN, and later confirmed by University of Wisconsin officials.

Turner was a multi-year starter for the Wisconsin Badgers defense at inside linebacker, but will look to finish his collegiate career elsewhere.

The linebacker from Michigan will have one year of eligibility remaining.

During the Wisconsin football team’s season, Jordan Turner was the Badgers starting inside linebacker alongside Mamea Njongmeta and Jake Chaney at different points.

Turner appeared in 30 games during his career at the University of Wisconsin, racking up 135 tackles, 37 pressures, 12.5 TFLs, six pass deflections, 5.0 sacks, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

This past season, the 6-foot-1, 238-pound linebacker played in 11 games, registering 61 tackles, 13 pressures, 6.5 TFLs, 3.0 sacks, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble for the Badgers defense.

He initially joined the Wisconsin football program as a member of the 2020 recruiting class under former head coach Paul Chryst. Turner was considered a three-star prospect and held 20+ scholarship offers from schools such as Michigan State, Purdue, Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Rutgers, among others.

Turner is now the eighth known Wisconsin football player to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
