On Tuesday, after spending some time down south, position coach Phil Longo and the Wisconsin football program extended a scholarship offer to 2025 four-star quarterback Luke Nickell out of Alpharetta, Georgia.
As it stands, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings have the 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal-caller as the No. 288 overall recruit in the 2025 class, the No. 21 QB, and the No. 31 prospect to hail from Georgia.

Nickel threw for 2,506 yards and 24 passing touchdowns this past season for Milton High School while rushing for four additional scores.
“Coach Longo’s offense is special and really explosive, so it would be great to be in a system that throws the ball around with great weapons,” Nickells told Badgerblitz.com.
Wisconsin football joins Cincinnati, Florida State, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, Stanford, UCF, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and others in the race for Nickels services.
Thus far, Longo and the Badgers have been selective in handing out 2025 scholarship offers to quarterbacks. Nickels becomes the fifth known offer in the cycle, joining five-star George MacIntyre, four-star Ryan Montgomery, Stone Saunders, and three-star Sawyer Anderson.
