Wisconsin football coaches have been hot on the recruiting trail this past week. On Tuesday, offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Phil Longo extended a scholarship offer to the No. 1 signal caller in the 2026 class, Julian Lewis, out of Carrollton, Georgia.

QB Hit List has the 6-foot-1, 175-pound recruit rated as the top quarterback prospect in his class and took to social media to announce his offer from the Badgers.

Lewis threw for an eye-popping 4,118 yards for 48 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 65.5% of his passes as a true freshman. He was named the Regions Offensive Player of the Year and led his team to the Georgia state title game, where he threw for a state-finals record 531 yards.

Wisconsin football has its work cut out for them…

Wisconsin football joins Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennesee, Texas, USC, and others in the race for Lewis’ services.

Thus far, Phil Longo and the Badgers have their 2024 quarterback with four-star Mabrey Mettauer out of The Woodlands in Texas. His early commitment has allowed them to jump ahead and focus on evaluations in the 2025 and 2026 classes.

At this point, Julian Lewis is the only known scholarship offer Wisconsin football has given out in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
