Wisconsin Football: Good Vibes From 2024 Recruit, Plus an Intriguing QB Visitor
After visiting Wisconsin football for the first time during The Launch, 2024 three-star running back Gideon Ituka, out of Gaithersburg, Maryland, made a return trip to Madison for an official visit, and let’s just say things are trending the right way for the Badgers.
Oh man, it was amazing,” Ituka told 247Sports. “Really seeing the city and the atmosphere for the first time, it really felt like home for me. My family loved it; I loved it. We had a great time here. The coaches made it a great time. Meeting the players, it seemed like a family.”

According to the industry-generated 247Sports composite rankings, Ituka is the No. 78 RB in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 23 player in Maryland.
Shortly after his visit, the Maryland native picked up a crystal ball prediction from Wisconsin football insider Evan Flood with a confidence of “8”, which is noteworthy considering the Badgers were already considered the frontrunner for his services.
Ituka is a high-priority target of running backs coach Devon Spalding and would make for an intriguing change of pace option behind some of the more one-cut zone running backs that Wisconsin football has pursued to this point.
The 5-foot-10, 225-pound tailback ran for 1,106 yards and 16 touchdowns as a Junior and currently holds offers from Boston College, Liberty, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Toledo, and several other schools.
Wisconsin Football Hosts High Profile 2025 Quarterback on Visit
Already holding a commitment from their top quarterback target in the 2024 recruiting class, offensive coordinator Phil Longo has begun a deep dive into prospects for the 2025 cycle.
One of the top-of-the-board options for Wisconsin football is four-star QB Luke Nickell from Alpharetta, Georgia, who visited campus this past weekend. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 22 signal caller in the country.

The 6-foot-2 quarterback threw for 2,507 yards and 25 touchdowns with eight interceptions and already holds offers from North Carolina, Penn State, Stanford, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Michigan State, and several others.
By all accounts, the visit went well, and the Wisconsin football program is considered one of Nickel’s top schools at this point in his recruitment.
