Wisconsin Football Hosts Phenom Quarterback Recruit on Visit
Madison, Wis. — Over the weekend, Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program hosted several talented 2024 players on official visits. Still, arguably the biggest name on campus was the 2027 phenom quarterback recruit from Alabama, Trent Seaborn.
The young quarterback has garnered significant national attention for his standout play for Thompson High School (Ala.), where he led them to a 7A State Championship title last season, passing for 207 yards and five touchdowns in the championship game while still in eighth grade.
Seaborn, a 6-foot and 180-pound signal caller, threw for 1,177 yards and 15 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He enters his freshman campaign already holding scholarship offers from Auburn, Oregon, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Nebraska, Maryland, Arkansas, and Arizona State.
Already considered the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2027 class, offensive coordinator Phil Longo wasted no time inviting him to visit the Wisconsin campus and meet with the coaching staff and see if there’s a potential fit.
Thank you @CoachFick and @CoachPhilLongo for an incredible experience at @BadgerFootball. Can’t wait to come back. #OnWisconsin #JumpAround 🦡 🔴⚪️ @WisFBRecruiting @RecruitWarriors @coachmarkf @QBHitList @AL7AFootball @InsideWisconsin @B5Q @TheBuckycast @Badger247 @jessetemple… pic.twitter.com/dmC0w7y58T

Wisconsin Football Gets Quarterback Recruit Trent Seaborn on Campus
While it is still incredibly early in his playing career, the young quarterback has already shown significant potential, displaying impressive arm strength, poise, and accuracy on the field.
Many are predicting that he could become one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country in the coming years, and his visit to Madison to learn more about the Wisconsin football program is a sign of his growing profile in the sport.
“We started off meeting up with Coach Longo and some of his assistants and catching up a little, and then they had me join in on the meetings with the other official visit recruits,” said Seaborn. “We also took a golf cart tour around the entire campus. I had a chance to see all the stadium and athletic facilities and learn about the $350 million athletic facility project starting next year, which sounds amazing. They had a big outdoor BBQ for us, and I got to hang out with Coach Fickell and Coach Longo before we headed down to the Terrace at the lakefront.”
“I got to sit down with Coach Longo and talk ball, Seaborn explained. “We got on the whiteboard and talked a lot about how our Thompson offense runs certain plays and how Coach Longo runs some of his plays. I’m so grateful he took that much time to spend with me. I learned a lot, but it also showed me how much of a priority I am to him and Coach Fick. The whole staff made me feel so welcome.”
The top-ranked quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class hopes to return to campus for another this fall to get a feel for how “hyped” the stadium [Camp Randall] is when it’s packed full of rabid Badgers fans.
