Wisconsin Football Getting Involved With 2025 In-State Tight End
Wisconsin football is continuing to build a relationship with the in-state tight end.
Wisconsin Badgers head coach football Luke Fickell brought in-state tight Blake Thiry out for a game day visit at Camp Randall Stadium last November against Northwestern.
“I enjoyed my visit,” Thiry shared with B5Q. “There is a positive energy in the coaching staff that impressed me… . I have a high interest in being a Badger in the future if things head in that direction.”

Thus far, the three-star tight end has predominantly spoken with Wisconsin Director of Player Personnel Max Stienecker. But now he’s starting to hear more often from Badgers position coach Nate Letton as of late.
Blake Thiry Plans to Visit Wisconsin Football During Spring Practice
Blake Thiry and the Wisconsin football program have been in contact on and off since last summer. However, Thiry is starting to hear more often from his hometown Badgers and is planning to take another visit.
According to the 247Sports recruiting rankings, Thiry is the No. 37 tight end in the country and the No. 9 player in Wisconsin. He holds scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Ohio, Coastal Carolina, and Akron.
He’s taken unofficial visits to Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, Nebraska, SDSU, Iowa State, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and NIU.
During Thiry’s junior season at Prairie du Chien, the 6-foot-4 athlete ran for 1,184 yards and 19 touchdowns while catching 35 passes for 620 yards and six more scores en route to honorable mention All-State honors.
It’s also worth mentioning that Thiry is also considered one of the nation’s top long-snappers.
“I’m hearing from Indiana, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt the most,” Thiry told Badgernotes. “I don’t have a visit to UW scheduled yet, but I’m getting a date worked out to go down to a spring practice in April.”
It’s hard to know at this point where Thiry falls on the Wisconsin football team’s recruiting board at the tight end spot. But he’s certainly a name worth monitoring moving forward. The 2025 in-state class is pretty deep overall, and there’s a lot to like about the potential upside here.
