Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers football program will have one of the nation’s top pass-rushers on campus for a recruiting visit.

On Sunday, February 4, four-star edge rusher Jayden Woods from Shawnee, Kansas, will be in Madison, he confirmed to Badgernotes.com

“Wisconsin’s defensive scheme truly benefits outside linebackers for the NFL,” Woods told Badgernotes. “And the Badgers coaching staff seems very genuine.”

As a junior at Mill Valley High School, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound edge registered 71 tackles, 11 hurries, 10.0 TFLs, eight pass deflections, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles, per MaxPreps.

Woods currently holds 32 total scholarship offers, most notably from Alabama, Florida, Iowa, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, and Texas A&M, among others.

Wisconsin Football to Host Edge Rusher Jayden Woods on Visit

Given the nature of college athletics, things certainly can change at the drop of a hat. That said, if nothing changes, Wisconsin football projects to take two outside linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class, and three-star LB Brenden Anes has already laid claim to one of those spots.

Getting Jayden Woods on campus is a big pull for the Wisconsin Badgers. According to composite rankings, Woods is the No. 145 recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, the No. 14 edge rusher, and the No. 4 player in Kansas. Worth noting that outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell has been the lead recruiter for Woods during his process.

On Tape, Woods shows a player with the physical tools to be a mismatch nightmare on defense because of his versatility.

The Kansas native can put his hand in the dirt and rush the passer as a more traditional defensive end or stand up and pursue the quarterback because of his speed-rushing ability set, bend off the edge, and closing speed.

Wisconsin football will also welcome four-star edge Austin Alexander, who is a top-of-the-board recruiting target, to Madison this weekend for junior day. Buckle up.
