Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling MAN OF THE MAT Award

The intent of this prestigious, almost Hodge-like, Award is to highlight a wrestler from the Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling team that had the most outstanding performance from the event.

Shane Liegel continues to show week after week what kind of wrestler he is.  When the Spring Green natives best is required he continues to shine. While wrestling at all levels is a grind, the Loras College transfer shows that the transition from Division III to Division I wrestling isn’t one that is too difficult for him to make.

Liegel, the Wisconsin Badgers graduate student, finished his tournament with a first place finish, a scorching 6–0 record that including four victories over ranked opponents, Shane Liegel is the MAN OF THE MAT for his performance at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships.
