Former Wisconsin Badgers LB Aidan Vaughan, who entered the transfer portal at the beginning of January, has found a new home.

Vaughan took to social media to announce that he would continue his playing career with Liberty, who won the Conference USA title last season.

The former Badger will have three years of eligibility with the Flames.

Former Wisconsin Badgers LB Aidan Vaughan Joins Liberty

Vaughan initially joined the Wisconsin football program as a part of the 2022 recruiting class. The Michigan native was ranked as a three-star prospect at the time, and the Badgers were able to beat out offers from Florida State, Louisville, Minnesota, Iowa, Maryland, Illinois, and Syracuse, among others.

Vaughan saw action in one game during his time with Wisconsin, appearing against Washington State, but did not record a stat.

The Badgers staff has completely revamped UW’s linebacker corps through the transfer portal during the offseason, adding Tackett Curtis, Jaheim Thomas, Sebastian Cheeks, John Pius, and Leon Lowery. As a result, Vaughan’s path to playing time was extremely crowded, making his decision to transfer a bit unsurprising.

Vaughan is now the 13th Wisconsin Badgers transfer to find his new home. Transfers who have yet to announce their commitment include Keontez Lewis, Ross Gengler, Kaden Johnson, Tommy Brunner, and Amaun Williams.

Best of luck to Vaughan in his next venture.
