Wisconsin Badgers redshirt freshman linebacker Aidan Vaughan announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal after two seasons with the football program.

Vaughan, a Michigan native, found himself in a crowded linebacker room since the season ended, with the Badgers adding three inside backers through the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-2, 224-pound linebacker will now begin his search for a new home in the portal with three years of eligibility remaining.

During the Wisconsin football team’s season, Aidan Vaughan was behind players like Maema Njongmeta, Jordan Turner, Jake Chaney, Tate Grass, Christian Alliegro, and Bryan Sandborn.

As mentioned, the staff has added several bodies to that room this offseason, making it clear he would have an uphill climb in pursuit of earning meaningful snaps.

Vaughan appeared in just one game during his career with the Badgers against Washington State and didn’t record any counting stats.

He initially joined the Wisconsin football program as a member of the 2022 recruiting class under former head coach Paul Chryst. He was considered a three-star prospect and held 13 offers from schools such as the Air Force, Colorado, Florida State, Iowa, Illinois, and Louisville.
