Wisconsin Badgers freshman quarterback Mabrey Mettauer opted for early enrollment to accelerate his development under the football team’s coaching staff and participate in spring practice.

With a bright future ahead of him and the world of NIL playing such a significant role for college athletes, Mettauer has officially signed with ‘Outshine Talent,’ a talent management firm.

Outshine Talent manages talent of all kinds, including many other Division One athletes who will represent Mettauer for NIL opportunities. Let’s be honest here: the 6-foot-5 quarterback will be easy to market, so outsourcing NIL options will allow him to focus on football.

More importantly, he didn’t sign with Chris Wash, so we’re all good there.

Wisconsin Badgers Welcome QB Mabrey Mettauer to Madison

Mabrey Mettauer is considered a composite four-star quarterback out of The Woodlands in Texas. Mettauer held 24 Division 1 offers but chose the Wisconsin Badgers over teams like North Carolina, Miami, LSU, Kansas, Florida, Cincinnati, Baylor, and Arizona State, among others.

As a senior, Mettauer completed 67.2% of his passes for 2,305 yards for 29 touchdowns with only one interception. Per MaxPreps, he also ran for 392 yards on the ground and tacked on five more touchdowns.

He was hand-picked by offensive coordinator Phil Longo to run the Wisconsin football team’s spread offense. Mettauer’s upside is exceptionally high as a dual-threat quarterback with a big arm and the ability to extend plays with his legs if the pocket collapses. There’s no shortage of talent.

This spring, he’ll join a Wisconsin Badgers quarterback room that’s expected to be led by Miami transfer Tyler Van Dyke and also includes Braedyn Locke, Nick Evers, and Cole LaCrue.
