USC Trojans Attempting to Flip a 2025 Wisconsin Football Commit

Wisconsin football coaches must fend off USC, who recently offered their newest 2025 commit.

When you lock up a player’s recruitment as early as the Wisconsin football program did with 2025 three-star defensive back Remington Moss, it’s always in the realm of possibility that bigger programs will come knocking in hopes of flipping them.

This is why it should come as no surprise that Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans became the latest program to offer the 6-foot-2 corner out of Frederickson, Virginia, on Monday — adding to an already extensive offer list that also includes schools like Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, and countless other Power 5 teams.

According to the industry-generated composite rankings, Moss is the No. 420 recruit in the 2025 class, the No. 30 safety, and the No. 11 prospect to hail from Virginia.

What Does This Mean for Wisconsin Football Recruiting?

Knowing that Remington Moss shut down his recruitment rather early despite having significant Power 5 interests, it’s fair to wonder what this means for Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program.

Nothing is off the table with it being so early in the process. However, Coach Fickell has a reputation for developing defensive backs who have a similar skillset to Moss — so I’m not overly concerned at this point.

The Badgers were able to lock up Landyn Locke at quarterback in the 2025 class as well because recruits are buying what the new coaching staff is selling and want to secure themselves a spot before it’s too late.

Unless we see Moss start taking visits to schools that have offered him after he gave Wisconsin football a verbal commitment — I don’t see any reason to worry about his latest offer — even if USC is a heavy hitter.
