Wisconsin Football Transfer Addition Surprisingly Flips Commitment
The Badgers have lost a transfer portal linebacker to Stanford.
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers lost an offseason transfer portal addition before he ever played a snap for the football program.
Northern Iowa linebacker Jahsiah Galvan, who initially committed to the Badgers in late December, has officially flipped his pledge to the Stanford Cardinals and former Wisconsin assistant Mark Donofrio.
Galvan, who stands at 6-foot-3, 202 pounds, announced his flip on social media shortly after Wisconsin football added a slew of transfers at the position, namely Jaheim Thomas, Tackett Curtis, and Sebastian Cheeks.

He has three years of eligibility and chose Stanford over reported transfer portal offers from UW, Kansas, Cincinnati, and Kansas State.
Wisconsin Football Loses Transfer Portal LB Jahsiah Galvan to Stanford
Well, there was always going to be some attrition at inside linebacker, given the number of bodies Wisconsin football had at the spot. However, I thought that might come after spring practice, and I didn’t anticipate one of the departures to come from a recent commit, but I get it.
The Badgers coaching staff worked their tail off to rebuild the linebacking corps this offseason. Odds are, Jahsiah Galvan likely didn’t see the same opportunity to earn a spot in the two-deep that was available before and thought it would be best to pursue greener pastures.
Galvan is coming off a standout redshirt freshman season in which he played 11 games and led Northern Iowa’s defense in tackles (77) while also adding nine pressures, 5.5 TFLs, a forced fumble, and an interception en route to Missouri Valley All-Newcomer Team honors.
Wisconsin football now has eight inside linebackers on scholarship. Those players are Jaheim Thomas, Tackett Curtis, Jakey Chaney, Sebastian Cheeks, Christian Alliegro, Bryan Sanborn, Tyler Jansey, and incoming freshman Landon Gauthier.
