Wisconsin Football LB Accepts East-West Shrine Bowl Invitation
The Badgers inside linebacker has accepted his East-West Bowl invite.
After a successful five-year run with the Wisconsin Badgers football team, Maema Njongmeta declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Rather than return for a sixth season, the Illinois native began preparing to make a run at the next level and has officially accepted an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl to showcase himself in front of NFL scouts.

The Wisconsin Badgers defensive captain registered 59 tackles, 23 pressures, 8.5 TFLs, 3.0 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and a pass deflection in 496 total snaps this past season.
Wisconsin Football LB Maema Njongmeta to Play in East-West Shrine Bowl
Wisconsin football inside linebacker Maema Njongmeta is currently projected as an un-drafted free agent, which shouldn’t come as a shock.
However, some evaluators will put more stock into his redshirt junior season film under Jim Leonhard, where the 6-foot, 240-pound inside backer led the Badgers with 95 tackles while chipping in 25 pressures, 12.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and an interception.
It was clear that the new Wisconsin football coaching staff asked its inside linebackers to take on very different responsibilities and play in space more than Njongmeta was comfortable with.
He was recruited to play a different scheme under the previous Wisconsin Badgers staff, so it will be interesting to see if Njongmeta can work his way onto an NFL roster next fall. It only takes one team to believe in you.
