Wisconsin Football Targeting Top-Tier EDGE Rusher From Indiana

In the pursuit of elite defensive talent, the Wisconsin Badgers football team has thrown their hat into the ring for a coveted edge recruit in the 2025 class. Four-star prospect Damien Shanklin, who revealed the news on social media, is the latest recruiting offer the staff has made.

Standing tall at 6-foot-4 inches and weighing 230 pounds, Shanklin hails from Indiana and is a standout pass rusher at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.

The Badgers’ scholarship offer brings Shanklin’s total to an impressive 21, with notable interest from renowned institutions like Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan State, Texas, Michigan, USC, Duke, and Tennessee.

According to the composite recruiting rankings, he is the No. 162 player in the country, the No. 15 EDGE, and the No. 1 player in Indiana.

Wisconsin Football Offers 4-Star EDGE Rusher Damien Shanklin 

Damien Shanklin, the latest Wisconsin football EDGE offer, recently attended Notre Dame’s junior day as a Top 200 recruit. He currently holds a crystal ball prediction to land with the Fighting Irish.

The Wisconsin Badgers, who secured two edge rushers in the 2024 cycle with Thomas Heiberger and Anelu Lafaele, continue to look for athletic upgrades on the recruiting trail who have plus size and length for their new-look group of outside linebackers in Mike Tressel’s scheme.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program, who have six commits right now, have offered 10 known EDGE rushers in this class and hold the No. 9 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle.
