The University of Wisconsin football team was among the first Power 5 programs to get involved with 2027 QB Trent Seaborn after Phil Longo identified him early in the recruiting process.

After a breakout season at Thompson High School in Alabama, Seaborn was named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year. The 6-foot, 180-pound signal caller joins Trevor Lawrence (2014) and Arch Manning (2019) on the list of notable quarterbacks who have also won the award.

Seaborn was also named All-American First Team by MaxPreps after completing 195-of-271 passes for 2,590 yards and 27 touchdowns, guiding Thompson back to the Class 7A state title game.

The Wisconsin Badgers are one of 14 schools that have already offered Seaborn a scholarship. That list also includes offers from Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Nebraska, Maryland, Arkansas, Hawaii, and Arizona State.

Wisconsin Football Recruiting Target Earns Major Honor.

For good reason, Wisconsin football has identified Trent Seaborn as their top recruiting target at quarterback in the 2027 cycle. QB Hit List even has Seaborn rated as the No. 1 signal caller in the country.

The Badgers hosted Seaborn on an unofficial visit back in June to begin building a relationship. Phil Longo has been the lead recruiter for Seaborn ever since and speaks to the Alabama native regularly.

For obvious reasons, there’s an incredibly long way to go in this recruitment, but Wisconsin has placed themselves on Seaborn’s radar. That said, after his standout freshman season, he’ll soon become a high priority target at QB for nearly every school in the country.
