Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football program has been active in the 2025 cycle, already holding a commitment from QB Landyn Locke.

There’s still loads of time to put together a second standout recruiting class, and Wisconsin has kept in touch with an exciting up-and-coming prospect, Rowan Byrne.

Byrne, a three-star offensive lineman according to Rivals, has racked up 19 total offers early on. Some notable schools to offer the New York native include Notre Dame, Michigan, Stanford, Texas A&M, Penn State, Florida, and many more.

Although Byrne already has a loaded offer list early on, Wisconsin football is at the top.

“Wisconsin is definitely very high in my recruitment,” Byrne said.

Byrne received an offer from UW in May and wasted no time getting to campus on an unofficial visit in June.

“My visit was amazing. It was clear to me and my mom that I am a priority to Wisconsin and that means a lot,” Byrne told Badger Notes. “So overall, it was fantastic.”

The fast-rising prospect has made a few other stops since his Wisconsin visit. Still, UW made an impression on Byrne.

“What stood out most was definitely the town of Madison. It’s such a nice place to be, and to go to college there would be something,” Byrne said. “The coaches and players stood out a lot too. It’s the people that make Wisconsin special.”

Luke Fickell and company have remained in touch with the standout from Iona Prep since his unofficial visit. Offensive line coach Jack Bicknell has been one of the lead recruiters to land Byrne’s services.

“My relationship is fantastic with the coaches. The coaches have definitely kept in touch. We talk all the time,” Byrne told Badger Notes. “I’m closest with coach Bicknell, coach (Cullen) Casey, and coach (Casey) Rabach.”

Wisconsin is reportedly a dream school for the New York native, but UW has a crowded field to navigate with some blue-blood programs sending offers. However, Wisconsin has remained firmly in the mix.

“Notre Dame, Michigan, Wisconsin, Stanford, and Texas A&M are really sticking out to me,” Byrne said.

What’s Next for Rowan Byrne?

UW will have the opportunity to host Byrne once again in the fall during the primetime matchup against Ohio State in Madison. The three-star lineman is looking forward to checking out Madison again.

“I’m just looking forward to seeing everyone again and getting back on campus,” Byrne told Badger Notes. “I want to see the atmosphere of the fans during a big game, and I think that will be the best time to see Badger fans live.”

Byrne has a lot of time to evaluate his options, and he is taking it day by day. However, he noted that how he fits into a program and the relationships with the staff will be paramount in his decision.

“There’s a lot of things, but it will come down to fit,” Byrne explained. “How do I fit the program? Do I fit the culture? Relationships are going to be key no matter what, and I want to join a program with an upward trajectory; when you have all three of those, that’s a really good thing for me and will be hard to turn down.”

“Wisconsin has all of those factors.”
