The Wisconsin football team has officially signed safety Rafael Dunn. Dunn brings a lot of size to the secondary for the Badgers. Since Fickell and his staff have arrived in Madison, it’s been pretty obvious they are trying to bring in bigger defensive backs. The 6-4, 200lb safety is a perfect example of that.

Commitment to Wisconsin Football

Dunn was the Badgers’ 14th player to commit to the 2024 class for the Badgers.

The New Jersey native held double-digit Division 1 scholarship offers, including a handful of teams from the Big Ten. Dunn chose the Badgers over Michigan State, Illinois, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and more.

With his size, Dunn is the perfect fit for the dollar position on this defense. Hunter Wohler is currently the player occupying that position. Dunn is physical enough that he can play in the box, where Wohler played a majority of his snaps in 2023. But Dunn is also solid in coverage. A large, athletic, and physical safety is what the Badgers are getting in Dunn.
