Wisconsin football tight end coach Nate Letton will have to move down his recruiting board at the position. On Saturday, the Badgers learned that one of its top-of-the-board targets was ACC-bound.

Three-star tight end Marshall Pritchett from Rabun Gap, Georgia, announced his commitment to the North Carolina Tarheels over scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, South Carolina, Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, Florida State, Michigan State, and Tennessee.

According to the composite, Pritchett is the No. 411 prospect nationally, the No. 24 tight end in the 2025 class, and the No. 44 player in Georgia.

Marshall Pritchett was one of the Wisconsin football program’s top targets at tight end in the 2025 recruiting cycle. In all honesty, the Badgers gave themselves a real shot after hosting him on a junior day visit.

During Pritchett’s junior season, the 6-foot-5 Rabun Gap High School standout self-reported 46 receptions for 674 yards and six touchdowns.

Letton, Wisconsin’s tight-end coach, has landed one commit as a lead recruiter while at Madison, Rob Booker, in the 2024 class. He’ll now need to refocus his efforts toward 4-star tight end Brock Schott out of Leo, Indiana, along with Reiman Zebert and a few in-state prospects.

The Wisconsin football program is off to a strong start in the 2025 recruiting cycle, holding a top-10 class in the country, per 247Sports. It’s important to note that this is nothing to worry about because the official visit season hasn’t started yet, and the Badgers have all of spring to host recruits and build relationships.
