The Wisconsin football program is off to a hot start in the 2025 recruiting cycle, currently holding nine commitments and the No. 8 class in the country.

UW got some more good news on the recruiting front, as three-star safety Marcus Wimberly trimmed down his list of schools and included the Badgers alongside Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Memphis.

According to the composite rankings, Wimberly is the No. 620 player in the nation, the No. 46 safety, and the No. 5 player in Arkansas.

Wisconsin extended an offer to Wimberly on March 11th and was still able to make the cut down just days afterward.

UW already has two safety commitments from Remington Moss and Cody Haddad in the 2025 cycle, but the latter is on flip watch after a visit to Ohio State.

Wimberly initially committed to Arkansas early in the process, giving his verbal pledge in June of 2023. He eventually decommitted in December to explore other options, but the Razorbacks are still in contention for the three-star safety.

In his junior campaign at Bauxite High School, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect took snaps at quarterback, running back, receiver, and in the secondary. According to MaxPreps, Wimberly logged nine completions for 244 yards and a touchdown as a quarterback, 74 carries for 533 yards and two touchdowns as a running back, and 28 receptions for 302 yards and two touchdowns as a receiver. He also recorded 12 tackles, 1.0 TFLs, and a fumble recovery on defense.

It’s worth noting that Oklahoma is currently the favorite, as the Sooners hold multiple Crystal Ball predictions for Wimberly’s services. However, Wisconsin will have an opportunity in the summer to sway him away during his visit to Madison.
