The Wisconsin football team is hoping for some good news on Saturday evening when highly-touted tight end, Marshall Pritchett, will announce his commitment.

Pritchett is a 3-star prospect according to the industry-generated composite rankings. He has 37 offers from Division 1 programs, per 247Sports.

Right now, the Badgers are in the final six teams vying for the 6-5 tight end out of Rabun Gap, Georgia. Joining the Badgers are Georgia Tech, Michigan, Miami (FL), North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Wisconsin Football Unlikely to Land Marshall Pritchett

Unfortunately for the Wisconsin football team, Pritchett’s decision may be trending away from the Badgers.

Tom Loy and Anna Adams, recruiting analysts for 247Sports, have each put in a crystal ball prediction for North Carolina. Both have given their prediction a ‘6’ (medium) confidence level.

Currently, both analysts have a prediction accuracy for the 2025 class of 100%. You can take that with a grain of salt because they can switch their predictions at the last second when new information becomes available to them, i.e. right before a player’s commitment. Still, in general, Tom Loy has reliable sources.

On3 has its recruiting prediction machine and is giving North Carolina a 22.5% chance to land him. The next closest team in his top six is Georgia Tech with 6.9%. The Wisconsin football team is given a 5.8% chance.

If the Badgers do miss out on Pritchett, they will have to turn their focus to other prospects like Brock Schott, but even he may be a long shot and could be considered an Ohio State lean.

Luckily for the Badgers, they added a pair of tight ends in the 2024 class, Grant Stec and Rob Booker. They also got some production out of freshman Tucker Ashcraft last season and brought in Jackson McGohan from the transfer portal. So tight end may not be the biggest position of need in the 2025 recruiting class.

You never know, the Wisconsin football team might get a nice surprise on Saturday evening, but right now, it doesn’t look like he’ll be coming to Madison.
