The Wisconsin football program has been active in the transfer portal early, extending offers to several prospects and setting up visits with portal targets.

Former Colorado State CB TJ Crandall was the latest portal prospect to announce an offer from UW.

Crandall has picked up portal offers from Oregon State, Purdue, Arizona State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Arkansas, and others.

Wisconsin’s secondary was one of the strongest areas on the defense last season, with standout play from Ricardo Hallman and Hunter Wohler. However, some contributors, such as Alexander Smith, didn’t exactly rise to the occasion in 2023. Cornerback isn’t necessarily a big position of need, but getting some added youth and insurance would be beneficial.

Last season, Crandall appeared in ten games for Colorado State, recording 19 total tackles, two passes defended, and an interception as a freshman.

Coming out of high school, Crandall was a three-star prospect who played on both sides of the ball, recording over 1,900 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns on offense and totaling six interceptions on defense.

The former Colorado State CB is young, but bringing in some youth with the opportunity to develop could be worthwhile for the Badgers.

The Wisconsin football program has yet to pick up a transfer portal commitment.
