The Wisconsin football program is among the top choices for a four-star defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class.

Kade Pietrzak, a North Dakota native, listed the Badgers in his top four alongside Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Kansas State.

According to the composite rankings, Pietrzak is the No. 327 player in the nation, the No. 35 DL, and the No. 1 player in North Dakota.

Wisconsin extended an offer to Pietrzak in October of 2023. He stopped by for a junior day visit in February and an unofficial visit in April during one of the Badgers’ spring practices.

Pietrzak has tallied 25 total offers. Some notable schools to miss out on his top four include Washington, USC, Florida State, Minnesota, Miami, Iowa, Auburn, and many others.

Former Badgers defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was the primary recruiter for the North Dakota native for a good chunk of his recruitment before Scruggs left for a job at Michigan. Outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell has not taken over and has kept Wisconsin football in contention.

Only three games’ worth of stats were reported for his junior season, but in those contests, the West Fargo High School standout recorded 19 tackles, 6.0 TFLs, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Now that Wisconsin has landed in the top choices for the four-star prospect, getting him on campus for an official visit will be a big priority.

UW has yet to add a defensive line commit in the 2025 class, but they are still after some top targets, including Gordy Sulfsted, Drayden Pavey, and Brad Fitzgibbon.

Wisconsin football currently holds nine commitments in the 2025 recruiting cycle, good for the No. 19 class in the country per the composite rankings.
