Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football staff surprised many with the commitment of Emerson Mandell, but can the staff pull off another surprise this weekend?

Kaj Sanders, a 2024 four-star athlete from New Jersey, has been a major name across the 2024 recruiting class. Sanders is ranked as the sixth overall player in New Jersey and the 35th safety in the class. Sanders currently plays running back, safety, and corner back with hopes of continuing to do so at the collegiate level. The talented athlete is down to his final four programs ahead of his July 8th commitment, but what team will he choose?

Wisconsin Football Hoping to Land Kaj Sanders Over North Carolina, Rutgers

The running back and defensive back, Sanders, took four official visits ahead of setting his commitment date. Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Rutgers hosted Sanders for official visits. The recruit also made a handful of unofficial visits to Penn State and Notre Dame, who also may still be in the running for the four-star recruit.

At this time, it seems as though it is a two-team competition for Sanders, as Rutgers and North Carolina have stood out lately. Sanders has had multiple current and former teammates commit to both schools recently, which may also influence his decision. Sanders’ father, LaQuan Sanders, also penned a letter via Twitter to Rutgers following their visit. The connections and experiences the recruit has elsewhere make it seem like he may be out of reach for the Badgers.

Wisconsin is certainly still in the mix for the four-star athlete. However, the question is, how much of an impact did the Wisconsin football staff make during Sanders’ official visit?

The Wisconsin football staff and Badgers’ fans will learn where Sanders’ goes in the coming days.
