Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football staff recently hosted an exceptional 2025 four-star corner back after offering him a scholarship last month.

Tariq Hayer, a 2025 four-star corner back, is a talented defender coming from Washington, D.C. Hayer currently ranks as the second overall recruit in the state and the 20th corner back in the class. Hayer is also the 156th recruit overall in the 2025 class thus far with 16 scholarship offers.

The corner back received a scholarship offer from Wisconsin staff members Colin Hitschler and Paul Haynes last month before locking in a visit.

Wisconsin Badgers Eyeing Talented 2025 CB Following Campus Visit

The Wisconsin football staff has been eagerly recruiting the 2025 class as much of the 2024 recruits announce their commitments. One of the top targets in the 2025 class for the Wisconsin Badgers is currently the exceptional corner back, Tariq Hayer. Hayer is another “guy” for the Wisconsin football staff, as he fits their physical profile and scheme as well. Coming in at 6-foot-1-inch, 185-pounds, the corner back is physically fit to succeed as a future member of the Badgers secondary.

Hayer excels in both man and zone coverage locking down the offense every chance he gets. Hayer has an excellent eye for the ball and he is able to quickly shift into the right position to make a play. In his Sophomore season highlight reel, Hayer picks off opposing quarterbacks whenever they try to force the ball towards the man he is covering. Hayer also has elite speed which often makes him a threat to score when the ball is in his hands.

Perhaps the best trait that the corner back has involves his body control and positioning. Hayer stays with each play because he is able to position himself correctly every time. The corner back can find a balance between using his strength to fight for position and box-out his opponent. The ability and skill of Hayer is hard to match, which is why he has been one of the most highly recruited 2025 prospects thus far.

Can the Wisconsin Football Program Land Tariq Hayer?

In order for the Wisconsin football staff to land Hayer, they will have to battle against multiple top programs. Penn State, Notre Dame, Maryland, and Tennessee are among the biggest teams to offer Hayer. The recruit will still have plenty of time to receive more offers and complete more visits. The corner back also recently made a visit to Notre Dame and received the chance to meet with their staff while on campus.

After meeting with Wisconsin staff member Colin Hitschler, Hayer received his first in-depth look at Madison. Hitschler and the rest of the staff will have to battle to land the commitment of Hayer in the future.
