The Wisconsin football program is no longer in consideration for a top running back recruit with strong ties to the Badgers.

Four-star running back Tory Blaylock, the younger brother of Wisconsin Badgers safety Travian Blaylock, announced a revised list of schools in contention for his services, going from 13 to six.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder from Humble, Texas, initially had Wisconsin in that first group of 13 but is down to the following programs: Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, and Alabama. It’s worth noting that Blaylock currently holds a crystal ball prediction to land with the Sooners.

According to the composite recruiting rankings, Blaylock is the No. 221 prospect in the nation, the No. 17 RB, and the No. 32 player in Texas.

Tory Blaylock No Longer Considering Wisconsin Football

This news isn’t particularly surprising when you consider Blaylock’s impressive offer list and his brother’s relationship with Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football staff — who benched him in 2023.

Badgers running back coach Devon Spalding is still searching for his guy in the 2025 recruiting class but can be more selective following a cycle that brought in Darrion Dupree, Dilin Jones, and Gideon Ituka.

Some names to watch at running back are Bryon Louis, John Forster, Jace Clarizio, Chase Garnett, and Shekai Mills-Knight

Currently, the Wisconsin football program has secured commitments from eight players in the 2025 recruiting class, placing them at the eighth position in the national rankings according to the composite.
