With spring football practice just around the corner, the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting department is working to get as many potential targets on campus as possible to continue building relationships.

One such recruit who will make his first trip to Madison this spring is 2026 tight end Landen Miree, out of Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 6.

The 6-foot-4 tight end is currently unranked by the recruiting services but already holds 12 scholarship offers, most notably from Indiana, Louisville, Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, and several others.

“I know coach Fickell has a history of winning,” Miree told Badgernotes. “And it’s Big Ten football. For a tight end, it’s a great conference to be in. I’ve never been to Wisconsin, but I heard it was a nice place to live.”

Thus far, Luke Fickell and Wisconsin football tight ends coach Nate Letton have been selective, only offering two scholarships at the position to Brock Harris and Heze Kent in the 2026 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports.

Could Miree be the next?

As a sophomore at Princeton High School, Miree totaled 24 receptions for 371 yards and four touchdowns, helping them to a 12-1 record.

He also plans to visit Indiana, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Illinois, and Louisville this spring, but he’s hearing the most from the Bearcats. Although the Wisconsin Badgers have yet to offer, the idea of playing under Coach Fickell is something he’s thought about for a while.

“In seventh grade, I played against his twin boys [Fickell’s],” Miree said. “I told them maybe your dad will offer me in high school, so it would be cool if that happens.”
