This summer, the Wisconsin football program will conduct its annual summer team camp, providing an opportunity for an intriguing in-state recruit to showcase themselves in front of the Badgers staff.

Jack Wilson, a 2026 in-state athlete from Mount Horeb, will attend the Wisconsin Badgers team camp on June 19. He has been hearing from tight ends coach Nate Letton — who recruits the area.

“I’ve been a Wisconsin fan since I was a young kid,” Wilson told Badgernotes. “My dad was a team doc for the Badgers, so I’ve been going to games forever, so I’m familiar with the program and their tradition. I really like their current coaching staff and am excited about the future under Coach Fickell.”

Wilson, who ranks as the No. 6 in-state recruit, according to QBHitList, also plans to camp with Rutgers this summer. He has previously visited Akron unofficially and plans to check out Central Michigan soon.

Wisconsin Football to Evaluate Jack Wilson at Badgers Team Camp

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program have not offered any in-state players in the 2026 recruiting class. However, it does look like the Badgers’ in-state cycle will have a healthy number of high major talents.

Wilson is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete who plays both linebacker and running back for the Vikings. He has plenty of versatility but projects as a linebacker at the next level. It’s also worth noting that Wilson received an invite to the US Army Bowl National Combine.

“Jack is an athletic 2026 recruit that plays both RB and WR,” QB Hit List wrote. “He is best at making defenders miss and extending short plays for big gains. He has great speed and agility, especially after he has the ball in the backfield. He has good hands, with the ability to catch in traffic. His route running could use more training, but he has plenty of time to further develop his techniques. Jack is a talented wide receiver/rb prospect that has the potential to develop into a dominant recruit.”

It’ll be interesting to see which 2026 recruits start to put themselves more firmly on the Wisconsin football team’s radar after camping in front of the Badgers staff this summer — but Wilson will be a name to watch.
