Wisconsin football veteran safety Travian Blaylock has elected to forgo his additional season of eligibility and take his talents to the NFL after six seasons with the Badgers.

Blaylock announced in an Instagram post that he would enter his name into the 2024 NFL Draft rather than apply for a medical hardship for the 2022 season, which he missed with an injury.

“The last several years have been a blessing, and the relationships I’ve made have had a big impact in my life,” Blaylock wrote. “The city of Madison welcomed me with open arms, and I’m honored to have played for this great University.

“To Coach Chryst, thank you for believing in me and offering me a scholarship. To Coach Fick, thank you for allowing me to play a 6th season at the University I call home. To my teammates, thank you for accepting me into the brotherhood and creating friendships that will last a lifetime … With that being said, It’s time to take the next step and announce that I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Travian Blaylock became a member of the Wisconsin football program as a three-star recruit in the 2018 class out of Humble, Texas. Former Badgers defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was his lead recruiter.

The 5-foot-11, 209-pound safety played in 35 games during his Wisconsin Badgers career while navigating a series of injuries. Blaylock registered 26 tackles, two fumble recoveries, a pass deflection, one TFL, and 0.5 sacks in 294 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

Blaylock now joins Wisconsin football teammates Braelon Allen, Tanor Bortolini, Jason Maitre, Peter Bowden, CJ Goetz, and Maema Njongmeta as Badgers players who have decided to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
