The Wisconsin football team’s recruiting department has been working tirelessly, exploring the depths of the transfer portal for potential wide receiver additions.

Per a source, BadgerNotes.com has learned that the Badgers have recently been in contact with Florida Atlantic wide receiver Tony Johnson.

The redshirt sophomore wide receiver from Ocala, Florida, recently entered the portal and has already picked up scholarship offers from Georgia Southern, North Texas, Marshall, Virginia, Liberty, and Cincinnati.

Tony Johnson is the latest name to emerge on the Wisconsin football team’s potential list of wide receiver interests. Although the Badgers added Michigan State transfer Tyrell Henry, the program is still looking to add at least one more WR, preferably capable of playing on the outside.

Tony Johnson is coming off a redshirt sophomore season where he finished second on the Owls in receptions, catching 37 passes for 411 yards and four touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound wideout has played in 25 career games at FAU and has amassed 60 catches for 669 yards and seven career touchdowns.

He has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Wisconsin football hasn’t set up a visit at this point, but it is a name to monitor if the Badgers should miss on higher priority targets like Wake Forest transfer Jahmal Banks.
