Wisconsin Football Coach Compares Badgers WR to NFL Superstar

Wisconsin football will storm Camp Randall in just a few short weeks to kick off the much anticipated Luke Fickell era. 

When that happens, the Badgers will look completely different on the offensive side of the ball. Thanks largely to Phil Longo, his spread offense, and an impressive supporting cast headlined by SMU transfer Tanner Mordecai and a loaded wide receiver room.

Wisconsin enters the season with arguably the deepest group of wide receivers they’ve had in more than a decade. And Badgers offensive coordinator Phil Longo has seen his fair share of talents play in his system over the years. 

One in particular who caught his attention is Ohklahoma State transfer wideout, Bryson Green. The 6-foot, 205-pound wideout comes to the Wisconsin football program after an impressive season with the Cowboys, where he caught 36 passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns. 

Despite missing almost all of spring practice due to a nagging injury, Green has reportedly made up for lost time and left a strong impression on reporters and coaches alike. 

When Wisconsin football coaches met with reporters, Longo told Weekend Sports Anchor Andrew Bandstra something that should have Badgers fans quite excited. 

“He does some things with strength that reminds me of DK Metcalf,” Longo said.

That’s pretty high praise for Green and one of the major reasons why he should be among the top receiving options this fall.
