Wisconsin Football Lands in the Preseason AP Top 25 Poll
The Wisconsin football program was among those named in the first AP Top 25 Poll.
A new era of Wisconsin football is upon us.
After an offseason full of changes, Wisconsin is gearing up for the 2023 season. Fall camp is underway, and UW’s matchup with Buffalo is just a few weeks away. With a revamped team, Wisconsin looks to be a team to watch for as a surprise team in 2023, and experts seem to agree.
Wisconsin came in at No. 21 in the coaches poll last week. The AP Top 25 Poll was just announced, and Wisconsin made the cut.

Wisconsin Football One of Five Big Ten Program to Make the Cut
Wisconsin was one of five Big Ten teams to be ranked in the first AP Poll of the 2023 season. Michigan (No. 2), Ohio State (No. 3), Penn State (No. 7), and Iowa (No. 25) make up the other Big Ten teams selected.
UW finished with 386 votes to land in the top-25. Wisconsin edged Oklahoma, which received 296 votes, and fell just below Oregon State, which received 406 votes.
The Wisconsin football program has now made the preseason poll for seven consecutive seasons. Last season, UW came in at No. 18 in the preseason poll, making today’s No. 19 ranking the lowest since the 2016 season when the Badgers were unranked.
We are just under 20 days away from the 2023 season, folks. The wait is almost over. Before you know it, we’ll be watching the Badgers take on Buffalo at Camp Randall Stadium.
