Wisconsin football gave it their all on Saturday against Ohio State. They were only down seven late in the game, but it was the Buckeyes that escaped Madison with a 24-10 win. The Badgers now fall to 3-2 in the Big Ten and 5-3 overall.

Up next for Wisconsin football is a road game at Indiana. The Hoosiers are struggling this season as they are 2-6 overall and win-less in the Big Ten. The Badgers need to win this game and likely their final four games to win the Big Ten West.

Here is an early look at the Hoosiers.

The Defensive Line Could Give Wisconsin Football Headaches

I haven’t watched a ton of Indiana this season. I was able to watch a majority of their game Saturday against Penn State. One thing I saw was the Nittany Lions had a difficult time running the ball. In fact, Penn State only ran the ball for 132 yards on 43 carries. That’s just over three yards a carry for one of the best running backs in the country in Nicholas Singleton.

The offensive line for Wisconsin football struggled all game against the Buckeyes. Ohio State does have a better defensive line than the Hoosiers, but I think there’s a chance Indiana gives the Wisconsin offensive line headaches. The look fast and they look physical. With the amount of pre-snap penalties and times the Badgers offensive line has been beat this year, it’s certainly something to watch.

Wisconsin Football Can Pass on The Indiana Secondary

While the defensive line was good for the Hoosiers, Penn State and quarterback Drew Allar were able to have success in the passing game. Allar only threw 31 times but was efficient. Credit also goes to the Penn State offensive line.

I think the Wisconsin receivers gained some confidence in the second half against Ohio State. It was shaky at times, but then I think they settled in. This could be a game Brayden Locke has success if he is given the time to throw. I like receivers like Will Pauling and Bryson Green to win their match-ups.

Another Trap Game

The good news is Wisconsin can’t look ahead to any opponent moving forward. They likely have to win every game and have Iowa lose another game to win the Big Ten West.

There’s no doubt the Hoosiers have struggled all year. However, they play hard for head coach Tom Allen and there’s no doubt they will be ready. Wisconsin can’t look at the record and coast. They have to show up. They will also have to create their own energy as I expect a small crowd this weekend. A Wisconsin football win would also all but eliminate Indiana from bowl eligibility. This is big game for both teams.
