Kicker Nathaniel Vakos – Third Team

Fickell made numerous additions to the Wisconsin football roster through the transfer portal this offseason. Vakos, however, is the lone Badgers newcomer with preseason all-Big Ten honors from PFF.

The transfer from the Ohio Bobcats impressed in his freshman season. He converted 22 of his 27 field goal attempts, including three from over 40 yards in Ohio’s bowl game.

Wisconsin football kickers were inconsistent in 2022. With starter Vito Calvaruso injured, walk-on Nate Van Zelst took most field goal attempts. Van Zelst went 11 of 14 on the season. While he made all three attempts of over 40-49 yards, his three misses came from within the 40-yard line. The Badgers did not have Van Zelst attempt a kick over 50 yards, but Vakos made a 56 and a 55-yard try last season.
