Njongmeta is PFF’s highest-graded linebacker returning to the Big Ten this season. In his first full season of action, he quietly led Wisconsin football with 95 tackles in 2022. PFF rewarded him with a second-team all-conference nod. Despite that, Big Ten coaches left the Illinois native off their all-conference teams entirely.

The redshirt senior is the most proven Badgers player on defense. After the departures of Herbig and Benton, defensive coordinator Mike Tressel will need Njongmeta to produce at the same high level, if not higher, in 2023.
