Madison, Wis.- Another top athlete in the transfer portal has received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers as a former Ole Miss corner back posted an announcement to Twitter.

Coming in at 5-foot-10-inches, 180 pounds, Markevious Brown is a former four-star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. Brown was ranked as the 364th recruit nationally with a composite score of 89. Brown also ranked as the 29th overall corner back and the 79th overall player in the state of Florida. The corner back played for the historic IMG Academy in high school and dominated during his time there.

As a member of the secondary, Brown has a talented eye for the ball and a great natural feel for his position. Brown understands how to position his body to properly make a play before the offense can react. The defensive back fights for the ball and physically gains position on the field. It is difficult for the opposing offenses to move Brown out of the way to make a big play, which he showcases in his Hudl film.

Originally out of high school the knock on Brown was how he had to eventually earn a starting spot. IMG Academy is one of the most talent-rich programs in the nation, consistently pumping out collegiate and professional talent. Brown did not get to play until later in his high school career and struggled when he initially played. However, the final two seasons especially of his high school career were amazing as Brown solidified himself as a touted recruit in his class.

Wisconsin Badgers Extend Offer To Ex-Ole Miss CB Markevious Brown

Fast forward to his collegiate career and Markevious Brown has recorded 21 total tackles and two pass defenses in two seasons. Brown saw action in five games as a freshman before his role slowly dwindled down into a handful of snaps. In 2022, Brown primarily came off the bench and played in special teams packages for the Rebels. Outside of some minor appearances, Brown was not able to do much in 2022 for Ole Miss, and now hopes to find more success elsewhere.

The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has a great interest in the capabilities of Brown as a defensive back. Given his speed, positioning, and foot skills, Brown is able to move around the field with poise to gain better positioning. With two years of eligibility left as well, Brown becomes a valuable piece to any retooling defense.

The Wisconsin Badgers could make a solid run for the talented corner back Markevious Brown given the right circumstances.
